Two Presidents, Two Shoe Throwers, Same Media

A few months ago an Iraqi throws a shoe at President Bush during a press conference; the Western mainstream media and leftist blog reaction is to call the man a hero.
In their opinion Bush was evil incarnate and he had it coming; you cannot help but notice how many left wingers could barely help themselves not to express their disappointment the assailant didn't had a gun.

Yesterday an Iranian throws a shoe at the demented dictator Mahmoud Ahmedinajad; the same mainstream media and leftist blog reaction: big, loud yawn. Move along people, this never happened.

URUMIYE, Iran, March 6 (UPI) -- Iranian bloggers report that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad became the target of a hurled shoe
this week as he traveled through the city of Urumiye.

While newspapers and broadcasters ignored the story, the word in the photosphere was that the president's security guards failed to find the shoe-thrower, The Guardian reports. Ahmadinejad was reported to be traveling in an open car to deliver a speech in the northwestern city.

Among Muslims, shoe-throwing is considered a deadly insult, and the Iraqi journalist who threw both his shoes at U.S. President George W. Bush, who ducked, became a hero in much of the Middle East, including Iran. The practice was also taken up by demonstrators in Iceland and other countries.

Urumiye News, an Iranian Web site, said that members of the crowd became angry after a car in the president's motorcade hit an elderly man. The man had been trying to give Ahmadinejad a letter.

In 2006, someone threw a shoe at Ahmadinejad during a protest at Amir Kabir University in Tehran.

The man who threw his shoe at Bush had a trial and got away with a small fine.

The man who threw his shoe at Ahmedinajad is probably kept alive as we speak only to be tortured in the most unimaginable ways. Most likely he is wishing he was dead by now.

Guess which one of the two shoe throwers is a courageous hero to the Western drive-by media?

Personally I would not of cared if the shoe knocked him out. But one has to be pretty stupid to throw a shoe at him.
