“Tell everyone that there is still a place in the Kingdom of Romania which has not bowed to Communism. As long as our heads are on our shoulders, this corner of the country will be free. Tell the people not to lose faith, for the day will come when the whole of Romania will be free. Pray God for it, so help us God.” --Ioan Gavrila Ogoranu, Romanian anti-communist fighter 1923-2006

"Video Game Addicts" In Strykers With CROWS Turrets Mow Down Iraqi Bad Guys
Strategy Page: It's Alive!
December 11, 2008: The remote control turret changed the battlefield more than you might think. It all began three years ago, when the U.S. Army realized that new remote control gun turret designs actually worked, and suddenly they could not get enough of them. The army ordered over 9,000 CROWS (common remotely operated weapon stations), but for a while could only get 15 a month. By the end of 2006, there were about a thousand CROWS in service by the end of the year.
The main issue was that the enemy was no longer able to knock out the turret gunner, early in a firefight, and take away a lot of the vehicles firepower. Because of that, once the enemy opens fire, they are in trouble. The remote turret tends to begin delivering accurate fire right away, and is much more immune to enemy fire than a human gunner. If the vehicle is a Stryker, the enemy will soon find themselves dealing with half a dozen or so heavily armed infantry, who get out of the vehicle and come at the ambushers. Iraqis don't like that. They also don't like how some of the CROWS turret equipped vehicles will come after them. All those accurately aimed bullets coming their way, and no enemy soldiers in sight, is demoralizing.
The idea for CROWS has been around for nearly half a century. Years of tinkering, and better technology, eventually made the remote control gun turret effective and dependable. CROWS is a real lifesaver, not to mention anxiety reducer, for troops who drive through bandit country a lot, and have a turret mounted gun (usually in a hummer). The guy manning the turret mounted machine-gun is a target up there, and too often, the bad guys get you. Not with CROWS. The gunner is inside the vehicle, checking out the surroundings on a computer monitor (with night vision and telephoto capabilities). CROWS also has a laser rangefinder built in, as well as a stabilizer mechanism to allow more accurate fire while the vehicle is moving. The CROWS systems cost about $260,000 each, and can mount a variety of weapons (M2 .50 caliber machine-gun, MK19 40-mm automatic grenade launcher, M240B 7.62mm machine-gun and M249 5.56mm squad automatic weapon).
The accuracy of the fire, and uncanny speed with which the CROWS gun moves so quickly and deliberately, is due to something few officers expected. The guys operating these systems grew up playing video games. They developed skills in operating systems (video games) very similar to the CROWS controls. This was important, because viewing the world around the vehicle via a vidcam is not as enlightening (although a lot safer) than having your head and chest exposed to the elements, and any firepower the enemy sends your way. But experienced video gamers are skilled at whipping that screen view around, and picking up any signs of danger. Iraqis are amazed at how observant CROWS is. Iraqis tend to just wrote this off as another example of American "magic."
Many Iraqis, especially the bad guys, get distressed while watching a CROWS turret being exercised by some video game addict inside the vehicle. That's because the most noticeable part of CROWS, as it swivels and "looks" around, is the machine-gun. Many Iraqis don't even recognize the vidcam and other sensors. They think the machine-gun is, well, sort of R2D2 with a bad attitude and a license to kill.
Meanwhile, inside vehicles like the Stryker, the troops do feel like they are in another world. The Stryker is air conditioned, well equipped with electronics (including a sound system you can plug an iPod into) and a lot nicer than the nastiness outside.
Blago loses FOID card
Governor Blagojevich Arrested (TV20Detroit)
Agents arrested Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich in his home today. He's accused among other things, of trying to sell Barack Obama's vacated Senate seat. The FBI used wiretaps to catch him attempting to profit from the sale.
Blagojevich has been released on his own recognaissance.
He had to give up his passport, and his firearm owner ID card.
Blagojevich, one of the biggest gun grabbing morons in the country who was advocating for a total handgun ban in Illinois while in the same time was giving FOID cards only to his rich and powerful friends and was packing heat himself, loses what was left of his Second Amendment Right in his home state.... that is sweet revenge.

0bama's Own Cabinet Member: He's An Immigrant
Adopt Mr. Spock and boldly go where no human has gone before!
Spock also is a little bit of a clown: he knows how to shake paws, how to move his ears independently from one another and stay up on the rear legs. Did I mentioned he even has a white spot on his chest that looks like a bow tie?
Spock will follow you everywhere you go; if there ever was dog deserving the title of velcro dog, Spock is the one. He will need a little bit of training as he is a little bit of a thief and he raids the kitchen counter when left unsupervised; but that's only the consequence of the bad times and severe malnoursishment he suffered before being rescued. I am sure that with just a little love and training Spock will learn how to use his charm in order to get an extra treat instead of surfing the kitchen counter.
Spock does well with female dogs and even with male dogs that are not aggressive. However, if provoked and attacked he will defend himself - Spock is not a submissive dog.
If you want a GS that will protect, entertain and worship you and your children like Gods, Spock is the dog for the job.
If you want to adopt Spock, please contact Southern California Giant Schnauzer Rescue

Lego-Style Terrorist Figurine Sparks Muslim Outrage
A Lego-style figurine resembling terrorist strapped with explosives and made by a small American company has caused an uproar among Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
The controversial miniature figure, created by Seattle-based Will Chapman as part of his BrickArms military fighters line, is a bearded militant with a face-covering hood, a tiny toy assault rifle, a little grenade launcher and plastic bombs that can be attached to an explosives belt.
The character is called "Bandit — Mr. White" and sells for $14.
The jarring toy has outraged the British Muslim organization known as the Ramadhan Foundation, which called the figurine "absolutely disgusting," according to Sky News.
The foundation's chief executive, Mohammed Shafiq, complained that the toy is "glorifying terrorism."
"I don't think there's any difference between someone that shouts hatred through a megaphone and someone that creates a doll that glorifies terrorists," he told Sky.
"As a parent myself, I'm going to teach my children respect for the law and respect for each and every community. These are the lessons parents should be giving to their children — not lessons about weapons and violence."
Chapman, a father of three who operates the company from the Seattle suburb of Redmond, Wash., bristles at the notion that he is celebrating terrorism.
"We do not sell an 'Osama bin Laden' miniature figure," he wrote in an e-mail to FOXNews.com. "We sell a generic bad guy minifigure with a Ninja scarf head wrap, the same minifigure that we have been selling for over a year now, with no associated 'outrage.'
"It does not represent anything; it is simply a bandit — a bad guy for the good guys to battle. Attempt to assign it a 'personality' only serves to create controversy that does not exist."
On his Web site, he explains that his 9-year-old son gave him the idea for the toy line, which includes 31 different Lego-style weapons and a variety of military figurines.
He told FOXNews.com that BrickArms is a "family-owned and family-run business."
"We started in 2006, when one of our sons expressed an interest in military history and weaponry of the WW2 era," he wrote. "He wanted to recreate scenes from history, with his LEGO bricks and figures, so he and I designed the first of many of our BrickArms miniature toy weapon replicas."
Other figurines in the line are World War II fighters, U.S. Marines and even a Nazi SS officer.
LEGO issued a statement Thursday saying that the company isn't associated with the BrickArms toys.
"BrickArms is not licensed by LEGO Group to customize LEGO figures and has no links to the LEGO brand," the statement said.
"The LEGO Group is committed to developing toys which enrich childhood by encouraging imaginative and creative play — and does not endorse products that do not fit with this philosophy."
Now, why is Ramadhan Foundation assuming that the terrorist figure is a Muslim??? ;)

Music Video: The Black Cloud Of Islam
Music and lyrics: Roy Harper
Well I'm sick to the teeth of the news on the screen
of the Hezbollah scum and Jihad the obscene
whose men plant the bombs and then live feeling free
to watch women and children be killed on TV.
Which Satan delivers a child a death curse
in the name of a worn out collection of verse?
I've not read the book so I cannot recite
but I'd bet Salman Rushdie is just about right
underneath the black cloud of Islam
What kind of publicity needs so much blood
that's not for some sad diabolical god
selling himself as a two-bit Macbeth
as the expert in sentencing cousins to death
And what kind of god can this be anyway
that you have to prostrate to it five times a day
with hate in your heart and a gun in your hand
is force the only thing to understand
underneath the black cloud of Islam?
And the butchers who've got all this blood on their hands
are the ones who need god to be stood where he stands
blessing this kidnapping, murder and war
with books written hundreds of ages before
And women in veils walking paces behind
doesn't sit easy in my kind of mind
it speaks of oppression and no other choice
than rigid compliance with the loudest voice
underneath the black cloud of Islam
And you can put a lead bullet clean through this guitar
'cos I'm not overjoyed with the story so far
sharing a world with the nutters of god
is as good as being six feet under the sod
And words that are written are all here to stay
and these are the latest there are anyway
and I am the prophet so don't believe me
I'm the same as the old ones expect that I'm free
to give you a piece of my mind which is this
you're the worst of Jehova's blind witlessnesses
with your feet in the door of the deepest abyss
which is underneath, which is underneath,
which is underneath the Black Cloud Of Islam
Sounds too critical of the Religion Of Pieces?
'We Were Lined Up and Shot'
Details are emerging about the horrific ordeals faced by many of the victims of the Mumbai atrocities: Mumbai family tells ordeal.
‘The terrorists then rounded up anyone alive (about 20 people) and made them climb the service staircase to the 19th floor. On reaching the 18th floor landing they made the people line up against a wall.
‘One terrorist then positioned himself on the staircase going up from the landing and the other on the staircase going down from the landing.
‘Then, in a scene right out of the Holocaust, they simultaneously opened fire on the people. My father was towards the centre of the line with his two friends on either side. Out of reflex, or presence of mind, he ducked as soon as the firing began.
‘One bullet grazed his neck, and he fell to the floor as his two friends and several other bodies piled on top of him. The terrorists then pumped another series of bullets into the heap of bodies to finish the job.
‘This time a bullet hit my father in the back hip. Bent almost in double, crushed by the weight of the bodies above him, and suffocating in the torrent of blood rushing down on him from the various bodies my father held on for 10 minutes while the terrorists left the area.

A Little Town In Georgia Where The Mumbai Terrorists Would Have Been Dead In Minutes Not Days
Welcome to Kennesaw, Georgia – We’re Packin’
In 1981, Morton Grove, IL passed a law prohibiting citizens within the city limits to own firearms. In response, the city council of Kennesaw, GA unanimously passed a city ordinance in 1982 requiring heads of households to own at least one firearm with ammunition. The crime rate in Kennesaw at the time was already quite low, with only 11 burglaries per 1,000 residents in 1981; but nonetheless, the crime rate dropped even lower (by 89%) after the ordinance was passed.
In 1998, Decatur, GA, (another Atlanta suburb with a population of comparable size to that of Kennesaw) reported 4,049 property crimes per 100,000 residents, while Kennesaw had merely 243 property crimes per 100,000 (that is .243 per 1,000). In contrast, Morton Grove has a crime rate of about 10 times that of Kennesaw.
For the liberals with the American Civil Liberties Union on speed dial, slow down and don’t get your panties in a bunch. The ACLU has already taken the city of Kennesaw to federal court over the city ordinance, but Kennesaw won.
I can’t stand violence. You couldn’t drag me to a theater showing of “Friday the Thirteenth,” or “Texas Chainsaw Massacre.” No thank you! Personal gun ownership isn’t about participating in violence, it is about stopping violence. It is about protecting yourself from those who are violent.
The Second Amendment in our Bill of Rights is actually all about the citizens protecting themselves against government. If you take away the ability of a citizenry to protect themselves from government, those citizens have no way to practice their ability to control their government. In other words, we have no way of protecting our Constitutional rights. In fact, it is also American citizens owning guns, that acts as a big deterrent to our enemies who would ponder the idea of invading our country.
I know this sweet, young college girl with great wisdom and a heart of gold, who was mortified when I told her about the ordinance. She also lives in Kennesaw. After patiently listening to all the “compassion” and logic she could muster about how wrong this was, and all the violence caused by guns, I just asked her a few questions.
“How about you put a sign in your front yard that reads, ‘This house has no alarm system, no guns, and no dogs’” I asked. She didn’t like that idea. “When was the last time you heard of a shooting range being robbed?” I asked. She hadn’t heard of such a thing.
I went on to explain to her that criminals do not think like she does. If a law stated that she could not have a gun, then she would follow the law, and not have a gun. This is not how criminals think. Those who would use a gun to harm others in an unlawful way are already committed to not following the law. I just love watching the light bulb go off in someone’s head.
So you liberal, metro-sexual guys with all that compassion and understanding can leave the safety of your families up to chance. Give me a pistol-packin' man like former Mayor Leonard Church of Kennesaw any day!

Mumbai photographer: I wish I'd had a gun, not a camera. Armed police would not fire back
From Belfast Telegraph:
Quote:
Jerome Taylor talks to the photographer whose picture went around the world Saturday, 29 November 2008 A gunman walks at the Chatrapathi Sivaji Terminal railway station in Mumbai, India, Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008. Teams of gunmen stormed luxury hotels, a popular restaurant, hospitals and a crowded train station in coordinated attacks across India's financial capital, killing people, taking Westerners hostage and leaving parts of the city under siege Thursday, police said. A group of suspected Muslim militants claimed responsibility. AP It is the photograph that has dominated the world's front pages, casting an astonishing light on the fresh-faced killers who brought terror to the heart of India's most vibrant city. Now it can be revealed how the astonishing picture came to be taken by a newspaper photographer who hid inside a train carriage as gunfire erupted all around him. Sebastian D'Souza, a picture editor at the Mumbai Mirror, whose offices are just opposite the city's Chhatrapati Shivaji station, heard the gunfire erupt and ran towards the terminus. "I ran into the first carriage of one of the trains on the platform to try and get a shot but couldn't get a good angle, so I moved to the second carriage and waited for the gunmen to walk by," he said. "They were shooting from waist height and fired at anything that moved. I briefly had time to take a couple of frames using a telephoto lens. I think they saw me taking photographs but theydidn't seem to care." The gunmen were terrifyingly professional, making sure at least one of them was able to fire their rifle while the other reloaded. By the time he managed to capture the killer on camera, Mr D'Souza had already seen two gunmen calmly stroll across the station concourse shooting both civilians and policemen, many of whom, he said, were armed but did not fire back. "I first saw the gunmen outside the station," Mr D'Souza said. "With their rucksacks and Western clothes they looked like backpackers, not terrorists, but they were very heavily armed and clearly knew how to use their rifles. "Towards the station entrance, there are a number of bookshops and one of the bookstore owners was trying to close his shop," he recalled. "The gunmen opened fire and the shopkeeper fell down." But what angered Mr D'Souza almost as much were the masses of armed police hiding in the area who simply refused to shoot back. "There were armed policemen hiding all around the station but none of them did anything," he said. "At one point, I ran up to them and told them to use their weapons. I said, 'Shoot them, they're sitting ducks!' but they just didn't shoot back." As the gunmen fired at policemen taking cover across the street, Mr D'Souza realised a train was pulling into the station unaware of the horror within. "I couldn't believe it. We rushed to the platform and told everyone to head towards the back of the station. Those who were older and couldn't run, we told them to stay put." The militants returned inside the station and headed towards a rear exit towards Chowpatty Beach. Mr D'Souza added: "I told some policemen the gunmen had moved towards the rear of the station but they refused to follow them. What is the point if having policemen with guns if they refuse to use them? I only wish I had a gun rather than a camera." |
How can you wish you had a gun, you silly Picture Editor man? Don't you know that carrying a gun on you can cause an escalation in violence and exponentially increases the danger to be killed?
Just ask our dear Democrat Party leaders, they will confirm every word I just said.

Get Your Guns Tax Free In South Carolina
Don't hold your breath waiting for that my friends. Genial leaders like Feinstein, Pelosi, Boxer and the rest of their liberal ilk in California know what's better for us serfs: guns are for cops and for the bodyguards protecting their elitist asses only.
From Western Standard
Celebrating the second amendment this weekend, South Carolina legislators managed to make it possible for South Carolina gun buyers to get their guns tax free this weekend:
State Rep. Mike Pitts, R-Greenwood, said he proposed the tax-free sales to celebrate the Second Amendment and respond to a then-pending U.S. Supreme Court decision on a Washington, D.C., handgun ban, which the court overturned.
The tax-free days also coincide with the opening of the duck and small-game hunting seasons this week, Pitts said.
“It’s to bring recognition that the Second Amendment of the Constitution is every bit as important as the First Amendment,” which establishes freedom of religion and speech, Pitts said. “It’s very much symbolic.”
You might even go so far as to say that the second amendment ensures the first one. I'd say so.
Meanwhile, Chicago continues to resist the outcome of the D.C. v. Heller Supreme Court case that ruled that the second amendment protects an individual right to own a gun, rather than some collective "militia" right to guns. Steve Chapman, columnist with the Chicago Tribune, writes:
Since the Supreme Court upheld the individual right to own guns last summer, one municipality with handgun bans after another has faced reality. Washington, which lost the case, changed its law. Morton Grove repealed its ban. So did Wilmette. Likewise for Evanston. Last week, Winnetka followed suit.
Then there is Chicago, which is being sued for violating the 2nd Amendment but refuses to confront the possibility that what the Supreme Court said may apply to this side of the Appalachians.
When it comes to firearms, Mayor Richard Daley is no slave to rationality. "Does this lead to everyone having a gun in our society?" he asked after the ruling came down. "Then why don't we do away with the court system and go back to the Old West, where you have a gun and I have a gun and we'll settle it in the streets?"
From listening to him, you might assume that the only places in North America that don't have firefights on a daily basis are cities that outlaw handguns. You might also assume that Chicago is an oasis of concord, rather than the site of 443 homicides last year.
Dear Mayor Richard Daley: My "right" to buy a salad does not mean that everyone in America (or Canada) will now go and buy a salad. It does not mean that we will all become vegans or vegetarians. It just means that, should I want a salad, I can get one. Similarly with guns.
While Chicagoans still can't get a handgun (but they will, in time, courtesy of the 14th amendment), folks in South Carolina can rest easier at night knowing that more of their neighbours and friends will have a gun in their home thanks to the tax holiday. And, as we all really should know, the more people that have guns, the safer the streets, just one of the positive externalities of increased gun ownership rates.
Up To 7 Islamic Terrorists In The Mumbay Attacks Are British Citizens
British-born Pakistanis were among the Mumbai terrorists, Indian government sources claimed today, as the death toll rose to at least 150. |
But...but...but they have the right to freely express their opinions, right? We must be tolerant and protect their freedom of speech!
Looks like the leftist dhimmitude and political correctness that infected the British media and the Albion politics came back to haunt the Brits: right now their own home grown jihadis - radicalized in mosques built right in the heart of England are murdering hundreds of innocents in cowardly attacks abroad.
Are you proud of this, you liberal multiculturalist wimps?
Cassandra is giving us a little insight on the 1000 year old war waged by Islamic thugs against the people of India:
"Here is a description of a portion of the Muslim conquest of India 1000 years ago. This passage was written by Will Durant in 1935. Keep in mind the following:
- Durant was an atheist, having abandoned Christianity several years before.
- This passage was written before George Bush became President. This passage, written by a well-credentialed liberal, was not written for the purpose of helping Bush in any political battle.
- This passage predates the modern state of Israel and the mideast wars that followed Isreal's founding.
The point is that no bias related to any of our current political battles influenced the research or writing of this passage. This passage should provide fresh perspective on the current war. We hope that by fighting this war now, we can escape the fate of the Hindus:
Quote:The Mohammedan Conquest of India is probably the bloodiest story in history. It is a discouraging tale, for its evident moral is that civilization is a precarious thing, whose delicate complex of order and liberty, culture and peace may at any time be overthrown by barbarians invading from without or multiplying within. The Hindus had allowed their strength to be wasted in internal division and war; they had adopted religions like Buddhims and Jainism, which unnerved them for the tasks of life; they had failed to organize their forces for the protection of their frontiers and their capitals, their wealth and their freedom, from the hordes of Scythians, Huns, Afghans and Turks hovering about India's boundaries and waiting for national weakness to let them in. For four hundred years (600-1000 A.D.) India invited Conquest; and at last it came.
The first Moslem attack was a passing raid upon Multan, in the western Punjab (664 A.D.). Similar raids occurred at the convenience of the invaders during the next
three centuries, with the result that the Moslems established themselves in the Indus valley about the same time that their Arab co-religionists in the West were fighting the battle of Tours (732 A.D.) for the mastery of Europe. But the real Moslem conquest of India did not come till the turn of the first millenium after Christ.
In the year 997 a Turkish chieftan by the name of Mahmud became of Sultan of the little state of Ghazni, in eastern Afghanistan. Mahmud knew that his throne was
young and poor, and saw that India, across the border, was old and rich; the conclusion was obvious. Pretending a holy zeal for destroying Hindu idolatry, he swept across the frontier with a force inspired by a pious aspiration for booty. He met the unprepared Hindus at Bhimnagar, slaughtered them, pillaged their cities, destroyed their temples, and carried away the accumulated treasures of centuries. . . . . Each winter Mahmud descended into India, filled his treasure chest with spoils, and amused his men with full freedom to pillage and kill; each spring he returned to his capital richer than before. At Mathura (on the Jumna) he took from the temple its statues of gold encrusted with precious stones, and emptied its coffers of a vast quantity of gold, silver and jewelry; he expressed his admiration for the architecture of the great shrine, judged that its duplication would cost one hundred million dinars and the labor of 200 years, and then ordered it to be soaked with naptha and burnt to the ground. Six years later he sacked another opulent city of northern India, Somnath, killed all its 50,000 inhabitants, and dragged its wealth to Ghazni. In the end he became, perhaps, the richest king that history has ever known. Sometimes he spared the population of the ravaged cities, and took them home to be sold as slaves; but so great was the number of such captives that after some years no one could be found to offer more than a few shillings for a slave. Before every important engagement Mahmud knelt in prayer, and asked the blessing of God upon his arms. He reigned for a third of a century; and when he died, full of years and honors, Moslem historians ranked him as the greatest monarch of his time and one of the greatest sovereigns of any age.
Seeing the canonization that success had brought to this magnificent thief, other Moslem rulers profited by his example, though none succeeded in bettering his instruction. In 1186 the Ghuri, a Turkish tribe of Afghanistan, invaded India, captured the city of Delhi, destroyed its temples, confiscated its wealth, and settled down in its palaces to establish the Sultanate of Delhi - - - an alien despotism fastened upon northern India for three centuries, and checked only by assassination and revolt. The first of these bloody sultans, Kutb-d Din Aibak, was a normal specimen of his kind - fanatical, ferocious and merciless. His gifts, as the Mohammedan historian tells us, "were bestowed by hundreds of thousands, and his slaughters likewise were by hundreds of thousands." [citation omitted.] In one victory of this warrior . . . . "50,000 men came under the collar of slavery, and the plain became black as pitch with Hindus." [citation omitted]. Another sultan, Balban, punished rebels and brigands by casting them under the feet of elephants, or removing their skins, stuffing these with straw and hanging them from the gates of Delhi. ---Will Durant, "Our Oriental Heritage," pp. 459-461, 1935
Update:
Brooklyn Couple Killed in Attacks
A young rabbi and his wife who moved from Brooklyn to Mumbai to run a Jewish center in India’s commercial capital were among those killed in a series of coordinated terrorist attacks, the Chabad-Lubavitch organization said on Friday. In 2003, Rabbi Gavriel Holtzberg and his wife, Rivka, left New York to run the Chabad center known as the Nariman House, where they managed a synagogue and led religious classes and other social and outreach activities at the center, one of about 3,500 outposts around the world run by the Lubavitch Hasidic movement. |
Update 2
Virginia Father, Daughter Visiting India Confirmed Dead in Terror Attacks
An American father and his teenage daughter were confirmed dead in the terrorist attacks in India by a Virginia foundation. Alan Scherr and his 13-year-old daughter Naomi of Faber, Va., were killed while they were in a cafe in Mumbai, a spokeswoman from the Synchronicity Foundation said Friday. "They were deceased ... and remained in the cafe until officials were able to get to them," Bobbie Garvey told FOX News. Garvey said the 58-year-old father and his daughter were identified by colleagues. The State Department confirmed Friday the deaths of two Americans in the attacks, but did not release any names. |

With Obama As President This May Be Closer Than You Think
You're sound asleep when you hear a thump outside your bedroom door.
Half-awake, and nearly paralyzed with fear, you hear muffled whispers. At
least two people have broken into your house and are moving your way. With
your heart pumping, you reach down beside your bed and pick up your shotgun.
You rack a shell into the chamber, then inch toward the door and open it.
In the darkness, you make out two shadows.
One holds something that looks like a crowbar. When the intruder brandishes
it as if to strike, you raise the shotgun and fire. The blast knocks both
thugs to the floor. One writhes and screams while the second man crawls to
the front door and lurches outside. As you pick up the telephone to call
police, you know you're in trouble.
In your country, most guns were outlawed years before, and the few that are
privately owned are so stringently regulated as to make them useless. Yours
was never registered. Police arrive and inform you that the second burglar
has died. They arrest you for First Degree Murder and Illegal Possession of
a Firearm. When you talk to your attorney, he tells you not to worry:
authorities will probably plea the case down to manslaughter.
"What kind of sentence will I get?" you ask.
"Only ten-to-twelve years," he replies, as if that's nothing.
"Behave yourself, and you'll be out in seven."
The next day, the shooting is the lead story in the local newspaper.
Somehow, you're portrayed as an eccentric vigilante while the two men you
shot are represented as choirboys. Their friends and relatives can't find
an unkind word to say about them. Buried deep down in the article, authorities
acknowledge that both "victims" have been arrested numerous times.
But the next day's headline says it all: "Lovable Rogue Son Didn't Deserve
to Die."
The thieves have been transformed from career criminals into Robin Hood-type pranksters. As the days wear on, the story takes wings. The national media picks it up, then the international media. The surviving burglar has become a folk hero.
Your attorney says the thief is preparing to sue you, and he'll probably
win. The media publishes reports that your home has been burglarized several
times in the past and that you've been critical of local police for their
lack of effort in apprehending the suspects. After the last break-in, you
told your neighbor that you would be prepared next time. The District
Attorney uses this to allege that you were lying in wait for the burglars.
A few months later, you go to trial. The charges haven't been reduced, as
your lawyer had so confidently predicted. When you take the stand, your
anger at the injustice of it all works against you. Prosecutors paint a
picture of you as a mean, vengeful man. It doesn't take long for the jury
to convict you of all charges.
The judge sentences you to life in prison...
This case really happened.
On August 22, 1999, Tony Martin of Emneth, Norfolk , England , killed one burglar and wounded a second. In April, 2000, he was convicted and is now serving a life term.
How did it become a crime to defend one's own life in the once great British Empire ?
It started with the Pistols Act of 1903. This seemingly reasonable law
forbade selling pistols to minors or felons and established that handgun
sales were to be made only to those who had a license. The Firearms Act of
1920 expanded licensing to include not only handguns but all firearms except
shotguns.
Later laws passed in 1953 and 1967 outlawed the carrying of any weapon by
private citizens and mandated the registration of all shotguns.
Momentum for total handgun confiscation began in earnest after the
Hungerford mass shooting in 1987. Michael Ryan, a mentally disturbed Man
with a Kalashnikov rifle, walked down the streets shooting everyone he saw.
When the smoke cleared, 17 people were dead.
The British public, already de-sensitized by eighty years of "gun control", demanded even tougher restrictions. (The seizure of all privately owned handguns was the objective even though Ryan used a rifle.)
Nine years later, at Dunblane , Scotland , Thomas Hamilton used a semi-automatic weapon to murder 16 children and a teacher at a public school.
For many years, the media had portrayed all gun owners as mentally unstable,
or worse, criminals. Now the press had a real kook with which to beat up
law-abiding gun owners. Day after day, week after week, the media gave up
all pretense of objectivity and demanded a total ban on all handguns. The
Dunblane Inquiry, a few months later, sealed the fate of the few sidearm still owned by private citizens.
During the years in which the British government incrementally took Away
most gun rights, the notion that a citizen had the right to armed
self-defense came to be seen as vigilantism. Authorities refused to grant
gun licenses to people who were threatened, claiming that self-defense was
no longer considered a reason to own a gun. Citizens who shot burglars or
robbers or rapists were charged while the real criminals were released.
Indeed, after the Martin shooting, a police spokesman was quoted as saying,
"We cannot have people take the law into their own hands."
All of Martin's neighbors had been robbed numerous times, and several
elderly people were severely injured in beatings by young thugs who had no
fear of the consequences. Martin himself, a collector of antiques, had seen
most of his collection trashed or stolen by burglars.
When the Dunblane Inquiry ended, citizens who owned handguns were given
three months to turn them over to local authorities. Being good British
subjects, most people obeyed the law. The few who didn't were visited by
police and threatened with ten-year prison sentences if they didn't comply.
Police later bragged that they'd taken nearly 200,000 handguns from private citizens.
How did the authorities know who had handguns? The guns had been registered
and licensed. Kinda like cars.
Sound familiar?

One More Headache For The Jihadis: The Robocopter
From WiredNews:
This month, U.S. Special Forces Command is quietly taking delivery of a radical new drone: the Boeing A160T Hummingbird, which rewrites the rules for helicopters. Thanks to a remarkable piece of design, the Hummingbird can go further, longer, higher – and quieter – than anything else around.
According to Jane's, 10 Hummingbirds are supposed to be delivered this month, under a joint SOCOM-DARPA program known as the Special Operations Long Endurance Demonstration (SLED).
"The Hummingbird is designed to fly 2,500 nautical miles with endurance in excess of 24 hours and a payload of more than 300 pounds. The autonomously-flown A160 is 35 feet long with a 36-foot rotor diameter," according to Hummingbird-maker Boeing's rather brief entry on the craft. "It will fly at an estimated top speed of 140 knots at ceilings up to 30,000 feet, which is about 10,000 feet higher than conventional helicopters can fly today.

NRA's Take On Obama's Pick For The New Attorney General: "Lying Political Opportunism At Its Worst"
Obama Selects Janet Reno's Anti-Gun Point Man As Next Attorney General
Friday, November 21, 2008
So much for "I support the Second Amendment," and so much for the notion of "change."
Media reports say President-elect Barack Obama has selected Eric Holder as his Attorney General, and that Holder may already have accepted the offer. Holder, as Deputy Attorney General under Janet Reno during the Clinton Administration, said that the Second Amendment does not protect an individual right, but instead protects the right to have a firearm when serving with a militia. After leaving office, Holder stuck to that assertion when he signed Janet Reno's brief to the Supreme Court in the Heller case, which stated, "The Second Amendment does not protect firearms possession or use that is unrelated to participation in a well-regulated militia."
At the Justice Department, Holder advocated a waiting period, limiting gun purchases to one per month, and so-called "gun show loophole" legislation--the fine print of which would have driven gun shows out of business. Holder made it clear that he, Clinton, and Reno were more interested in stopping gun sales than in regulating them. When ABC's George Will asked him about guns being used for self-defense more often than to commit crime, and Right-to-Carry states having lower crime rates than other states, Holder dismissed the facts that Mr. Will raised, with the flippant statement, "I'm not sure that we need more than the 200 million or so guns that we have on the streets."
In the same interview, Holder claimed that gun control was responsible for crime declining in the 1990s, when criminologists, law enforcement professionals, and sociologists attributed the trend to other factors entirely. We wonder what Holder would say today, since the federal ban on "assault weapons" and standard-equipment magazines holding more than 10 rounds has expired, the number of privately owned guns has risen by 35-40 million, and yet, murder and total violent crime have declined even more than before.
After leaving the Justice Department, Holder kept his anti-gun bona fides up-to-date by writing a column in the Washington Post advocating a law that would ban any gun sale without a background check--even between family members and close friends--and also "give the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms a record of every firearm sale." Holder claimed--since his column appeared just a month after the September 11, 2001 attacks--that his national gun registration scheme would help protect us from terrorists, when, in reality, this was just political opportunism at its worst.
Obama's selection of a Clinton Administration veteran with an anti-gun record as long as his own, signals that the new president is just as committed to his promise of respecting the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, as he is to his promise of change: "Yes We Can" get elected by lying to the American people.

Flying Pig Alert! Mainstream Media Outlet Admits "Gun Free Zones" Are Killing Zones
You will not believe your eyes: a reporter from an ABC affiliate station admitting what gun owners are saying for years and idiotic Democrat politicians like Feinstein, Pelosi, Obama, Kerry, Schumer (the list is just too long so I'll just stop here) refuse to acknowledge: gun free zones are open invitations for mass murderers to come in and slaughter disarmed victims.

American troops through a French infantryman's eyes
Shockingly positive views of our forces in Afghanistan are revealed in this translation of a post by a French OMLT (Operational Mentoring Liaison Teams) infantryman working with our toops there. A couple of brief excerpts:
Heavily built, fed at the earliest age with Gatorade, proteins and creatine - they are all heads and shoulders taller than us and their muscles remind us of Rambo. Our frames are amusingly skinny to them - we are wimps, even the strongest of us - and because of that they often mistake us for Afghans. [....]Each man knows he can count on the support of a whole people who provides them through the mail all that an American could miss in such a remote front-line location : books, chewing gums, razorblades, Gatorade, toothpaste etc. in such way that every man is aware of how much the American people backs him in his difficult mission. And that is a first shock to our preconceptions : the American soldier is no individualist. The team, the group, the combat team are the focus of all his attention.
And they are impressive warriors ! We have not come across bad ones, as strange at it may seem to you when you know how critical French people can be. Even if some of them are a bit on the heavy side, all of them provide us everyday with lessons in infantry know-how. Beyond the wearing of a combat kit that never seem to discomfort them (helmet strap, helmet, combat goggles, rifles etc.) the long hours of watch at the outpost never seem to annoy them in the slightest. On the one square meter wooden tower above the perimeter wall they stand the five consecutive hours in full battle rattle and night vision goggles on top, their sight unmoving in the directions of likely danger. No distractions, no pauses, they are like statues nights and days. At night, all movements are performed in the dark - only a handful of subdued red lights indicate the occasional presence of a soldier on the move. Same with the vehicles whose lights are covered - everything happens in pitch dark even filling the fuel tanks with the Japy pump.
And combat ? If you have seen Rambo you have seen it all - always coming to the rescue when one of our teams gets in trouble, and always in the shortest delay. That is one of their tricks : they switch from T-shirt and sandals to combat ready in three minutes. Arriving in contact with the enemy, the way they fight is simple and disconcerting : they just charge ! They disembark and assault in stride, they bomb first and ask questions later - which cuts any pussyfooting short
It is still popular, among conservatives in particular, to depict the French as implacable foes of everything American. Certainly the French left can be despicable, and nobody does snobbery better than the French. But I have been urging American conservatives to understand that we have many friends in France, that President Sarkozy is a worthy ally, and that we must remember the mutual aid that has characterized our relations from the American Revolution through two World Wars. The French are a highly accomplished nation, with some faults (who lacks them?) and many virtues.
Evan Coyne Maloney's INDOCTRINATE U
Indoctrinate U is a feature-length documentary film written by, directed by and starring Evan Coyne Maloney, on ideological conformism and political correctness in American higher education. Among other things, the film examines the use of institutional mechanisms such as speech codes, which it claims are used to punish students who express political views that are unpopular within academia.
The film covers anti-military protests at UC Santa Cruz and San Francisco State University, treatment of conservative students at Cal Poly and the University of Tennessee, racial and ethnic politics at the University of Michigan and Yale, teaching at Duke and Columbia, among other subjects. It also includes interviews with David French and Greg Lukianoff, (then respectively president and director of legal and public advocacy at the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education), Glenn Reynolds, Daniel Pipes and others.
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Maloney spent two and a half years making the documentary by conducting interviews on various college campuses and with various thinkers. The film was preceded by two shorter versions, Brainwashing 101 and Brainwashing 201: The Second Semester. The two shorts led the 2004 American Film Renaissance festival to select Indoctrinate U as its "most anticipated documentary."
In March 2007, Maloney appeared on Hannity's America to discuss the film. On April 19 of the same year, he appeared on C-SPAN's Washington Journal where they showed clips from the film and took calls.
Indoctrinate U was produced by On the Fence Films with the support of the Moving Picture Institute, and Stuart Browning, Blaine Greenberg, and Thor Halvorssen. The film's executive producers are Stuart Browning and Blaine Greenberg. Its associate producer is Frayda Levy. It was edited by Chandler Tuttle.
Deleted scene: Thoughtcrimes
This is a deleted scene explaining why Scott McConnell was thrown out of a graduate school program at LeMoyne College. His offense? Two sentences in a paper that otherwise earned him an A- grade. For his opinions on multiculturalism and corporal punishment, McConnell was unceremoniously booted from school.

My Solution To Somali Pirate Threat: Private Escort Ship
On top of that, the last thing you want on an oil tanker is a gunfight between the guys protecting your ship and the pirates armed with RPGs and incendiary ammo.
But if they would hire an armed ship as an escort, the shipping company wouldn't be responsible for what the crew of the hired escort ship does to the pirates once it catches them.
Yep, we'll take the pirates and surrender them to the authorities. Oops, sorry! Man over board. Ahhh bummer...too late.
So what is my solution? Get one of these old Soviet Navy vessels in conservation for cheap, fix it, arm it and make a profit with it:

The More Things Change...... Ronald Reagan 1964
Monday, November 3, 2008
'Twas the night before elections...
'Twas the night before elections...
'Twas the night before elections and all through the town
Tempers were flaring, emotions all up and down!
I, in my bathrobe with a cat in my lap
Had cut off the TV, tired of political crap.
When all of a sudden there arose such a noise
I peered out of my window saw Obama and his boys
They had come for my wallet they wanted my pay
To give to the others who had not worked a day!
He snatched up my money and quick as a wink
Jumped back on his bandwagon as I gagged from the stink
He then rallied his henchmen who were pulling his cart
I could tell they were out to tear my country apart!
'On Fannie, on Freddie, On Biden and Ayers!
On Acorn, On Pelosi' He screamed at the pairs!
They took off for his cause and as he flew out of sight
I heard him laugh at the nation who wouldn't stand up and fight!
So I leave you to think on this one final note-
IF YOU DON'T WANT SOCIALISM GET OUT AND VOTE!!!!
No credit for this, it came in an email.

Gun Owners Know: Arming Up For President Obama
Washington Times:
Gun owners fret Obama White House
Jennifer Harper
The nation's gun owners have the presidential election in their sights.
Some are up at arms about the prospect of future gun legislation should Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama win the White House. Others are beefing up their personal arsenals, skittish that firearms could become scarce or too expensive in the near future.
"If the economy is down, and gun sales are up, it shows you just how deep-seated the concern is out there about the situation," said Richard Pearson, executive director of the Illinois State Rifle Association.
"Most gun owners at least until recently have been misled by Senator Obama. Though he claims to be an advocate for the Second Amendment, his voting record in the Illinois Senate says otherwise. He voted for a bill that would ban nearly every hunting rifle, shotgun and target rifle owned by Illinois citizens," Mr. Pearson continued.
"His campaign has done a good job burying his take on firearms," he added.
Hal Goldstein, owner of the Armory gun shop in Annapolis, said, "People should be scared."
"Sales are definitely up," he said. "I've got people with Obama stickers on their cars coming in to buy. We're looking at possible a super- Democratic majority [in Congress], and a president who's going to do what's best for the collective. I don't want to sound paranoid, but the prices could go way out of sight."

News Channel 5 Nashville TN:
Gun Sales Soar, Handgun Permits Rise
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Gun stores are doing big business these days despite the sluggish economy.
Sales may be slow for some retailers but there are two reasons why the registers have been ringing at gun stores.
"I have personally never seen it like it has been this year," said Larry Baity at Gun City USA in Nashville.
He has sold a record number of guns recently... and he knows why.
Safety isn't the only reason people have started packing heat. The presidential candidates' positions on gun control is another.
"Because that seems to be the Far Left's choice to drive a wedge in between people owning firearms," Baity said.
The National Rifle Association claims Barack Obama would work towards banning handguns if he's elected. On their Web site the group said Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is, by far, the most anti-gun presidential nominee in history.

Firearm sales surge as election nears
By Tami Osborne,
Oct 29, 2008 at 9:07 PM EDT
MARCO ISLAND, Fla. - Political views and ads are driving an increase interest in firearms. Gun sales and permit requests are up in many places, including here in Southwest Florida.
These days Mike Christoff's Mobile Tactics gun shop and range is busier than normal. "There's a lot of people who never even considered carrying a weapon, but are thinking about just in case, obtaining a carry permit," Christoff says.
Many of his customers worry that if Barack Obama wins the election, their right to bear arms could be reduced or taken away.
"I'm a great believer in the second amendment and I think its my right to try shooting and have gun for protection or whatever reason," Denise McCarthy says.

CBS/WYMT News:
Gun Sales Up Before Election
Many Americans are cutting back on purchases these days, but federal data shows an increase in people buying firearms and ammunition. Some think campaign 2008 is influencing those numbers.
Owners at JT's Gun & Pawn say gun and ammo sales have tripled in the weeks leading up to the presidential election and they say they don't think it's a coincidence.
Bryan Wilson is a gun collector, but fears democratic talks of gun controls will make buying firearms more difficult after the upcoming election.
“People are buying them because they are afraid they won't be able to get any and, you know, I guess they're scared like I am,” gun owner Bryan Wilson said.
They are fears some gun shop owners say have sparked a jump in sales numbers.
“Ammo sales have tripled. The gun sales, we're ordering every day, two and three orders at a time just trying to keep up with the demand,” JT’s Gun & Pawn owner Jaime Campbell said.
Campbell says politics are the recent topic of conversation when customers come in to make purchases.
“People don't know the outcome of the election and what that's going to bring,” Campbell said.
She says customers are buying more of the weapons they think may be restricted under the possible legislation, like the Colt AR-15, a semiautomatic rifle.
“Everyone is coming in trying to stock up now,” Campbell said.
Customers we talked to say it all comes back to the Second Amendment.

Gun sales on the rise in Idaho
TWIN FALLS (AP) - Sales of firearms have increased in south-central Idaho, firearms dealers in the region say, because of fears of possible new gun control laws if Sen. Barack Obama is elected president.
Ryan Horsley, manager of Red's Trading Post in Twin Falls, says gun owners are concerned that certain kinds of guns could be banned.
Specifically, he said, sales of assault-type rifles, such as military-style AR-15s, have jumped, far outselling traditional, bolt-action hunting rifles.
"We had a particular sale of them a little while ago (Oct. 10), and in one day our sales were over $20,000," Horsley said.

Arming Up For President Obama
Sales Of Guns Up As Fears Of Gun Control Escalate
By Tyler Lopez
DENVER -- As polls show Democrat Sen. Barack Obama leading in his race with Republican Sen. John McCain for president of the United States, more and more Americans are arming themselves.
Gun sales are up nationwide and in Colorado.
"Probably an increase of 25 percent," said Richard Taylor, manager of the Firing Line in Aurora.
Time and again, Taylor said customers, especially first-time buyers, say they're afraid an Obama White House would mean more gun control.
"If Barack Obama gets in, people are concerned they might not be able to purchase certain types of firearms. So that has been driving a number of the sales," Taylor said.
"The upcoming election, I guess you could say, is part of it too because these guns may not be accessible to the civilian population," said Nicki Cook, a math tutor buying an AR-15.

Checks on 'Joe' more extensive than first acknowledged
The Obama Cheka caught red handed:
Columbus Dispatch reports: Tax, welfare info also sought on McCain ally
A state agency has revealed that its checks of computer systems for potential information on "Joe the Plumber" were more extensive than it first acknowledged.
Helen Jones-Kelley, director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, disclosed today that computer inquiries on Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher were not restricted to a child-support system.
The agency also checked Wurzelbacher in its computer systems to determine whether he was receiving welfare assistance or owed unemployment compensation taxes, she wrote.
Jones-Kelley made the revelations in a letter to Ohio Senate President Bill M. Harris, R-Ashland, who demanded answers on why state officials checked out Wurzelbacher.
Harris called the multiple records checks "questionable" and said he awaits more answers. "It's kind of like Big Brother is looking in your pocket," he said.
If state employees run checks on every person listed in newspaper stories as buying a business, "it must take a lot of people a lot of time to run these checks," he said. "Where do you draw the line?"

Cheka (from Wiki):
The Cheka (ЧК - чрезвычайная комиссия Chrezvychaynaya Komissiya, Russian pronunciation: [tɕɛ.ka]) was the first of a succession of Soviet state security organizations. It was created by a decree issued on December 20, 1917, by Vladimir Lenin and subsequently led by an aristocrat turned communist Felix Edmundovich Dzerzhinsky.[1] After 1922, the Cheka underwent a series of reorganizations.
From its founding, the Cheka was an important military and security arm of the Bolshevik communist government. In 1921 the Troops for the Internal Defense of the Republic (a branch of the Cheka) numbered 200,000. These troops policed labor camps, ran the Gulag system, conducted requisitions of food, liquidated political opponents (on both the right and the left), put down peasant rebellions, riots by workers, and mutinies in the Red Army, which was plagued by desertions[2]

Gun Manufacturer Executive Backs Barack Obama, Watch What Happens Next:
USA Today reports:
Dan Cooper CEO of Cooper Arms, one of the elite makers of hunting rifles, is backing Barack Obama.
Just minutes after the USA Today broke the story on the Internet, thousands and thousands of gun owners sent angry emails, called and sent boycott letters to Cooper Arms threatening to never purchase any of their firearms again.WASHINGTON — Dan Cooper, a proud member of the National Rifle Association, has backed Republicans for most of his life. He's the chief executive of Cooper Arms, a small Montana company that makes hunting rifles.Cooper said he voted for George W. Bush in 2000, having voted in past elections for every Republican presidential nominee back to Richard Nixon. In October 1992, he presented a specially made rifle to the first President. Bush during a Billings campaign event.
This year, Cooper has given $3,300 to the campaign of Democrat Barack Obama. That's on top of the $1,000 check he wrote to Obama's U.S. Senate campaign in 2004, after he was dazzled by Obama's speech at that year's Democratic National Convention.
Just 48 hours later, this is what appeared on the company website:
In response to the recent article highlighting Dan Cooper’s personal political donations, the board of directors, shareholders and employees of Cooper Firearms of Montana, Inc would like to issue the following statement.
The employees, shareholders and board of directors of Cooper Firearms of Montana do not share the personal political views of Dan Cooper.
Although we all believe everyone has a right to vote and donate as they see fit, it has become apparent that the fallout may affect more than just Mr. Cooper. It may also affect the employees and the shareholders of Cooper Firearms.
The board of directors has asked Mr. Cooper to resign as President of Cooper Firearms of Montana, Inc.
Daily operations will continue with the competent staff currently in place in Stevensville, MT producing the finest, most accurate rifles money can buy.
Dan Cooper has spent all of his working life producing the highest quality rifles built here in the USA. He started with nothing but the American Dream and built that into firearms company anyone would be proud of. We firmly believe Dan stands by the 2nd amendment.
We wish him all of the best in his future pursuits.
He's gone, I guess. That was quick ;)

Captain Kirk (William Shattner) On Gun Control And Racism On Election Time
P.S. Some visitors have pointed out Shattner's character in this video is Denny Crane from the TV series Boston Legal. I already knew that but the popularity of Star Trek and the Captain Kirk character that launched Shattner's career decades ago has far more resonance with the American public than the character he plays in Boston Legal. This is why I chose to put Captain Kirk instead of Denny Crane in the headline of this blog entry.

Do You Have Kenyan Insurance?
I am. This is the best insurance against any guns or ammo bans the Kenyan will pass.
Friends of mine who work in gun stores told me the have seen a great increase in the number of guns and ammo purchased. The reason? They say pretty much every customer is afraid of the gun bans and severely restricted ammunition legislation Obama and his Dhimmicrat Congress will pass.
My advice? If Obama wins, you better start buying any guns you can lay your hands on (or can afford). And instead of spending thousands of dollars buying on cases of ammo, just make sure you'll buy the reloading tools and supplies to make your own ammo with. Because without ammo or with severely restricted and serialized ammo, a gun is less effective than a crowbar.
Nope, I won't give any of it to you lefties. You can shoot spitballs for all I care.
