The last mile and a half of the trail was the most gruesome for him; I could see him literally dragging his feet and remaining behind. Once we got back at the trail head, we stopped for lunch by the river bank. George didn't even attempted to come and eat; he just went to the river and took a cool dip until I was ready to leave.
“Tell everyone that there is still a place in the Kingdom of Romania which has not bowed to Communism. As long as our heads are on our shoulders, this corner of the country will be free. Tell the people not to lose faith, for the day will come when the whole of Romania will be free. Pray God for it, so help us God.” --Ioan Gavrila Ogoranu, Romanian anti-communist fighter 1923-2006

Tired Like A...Dog
Here is how my 9 year old boy George was looking like yesterday after hiking 7.5 of the 14 mile long Heaton Flat Trail in the San Gabriel Mountains:

The last mile and a half of the trail was the most gruesome for him; I could see him literally dragging his feet and remaining behind. Once we got back at the trail head, we stopped for lunch by the river bank. George didn't even attempted to come and eat; he just went to the river and took a cool dip until I was ready to leave.
